PROJECT: “My city`s architecture in different artistic techniques.”
It is intended to realize with younger pupils. It will be led in Poland in the Primary School no 4
in Jastrzębie Zdrój and in Scotland at the same time.
It assumes to introduce different artistic techniques and art concepts to children as well as bringing the knowledge about city architecture closer.

Work with participants of the project include:
• theoretical occupancy in the field of drawing, painting, composition and other artistic techniques,

• personal test of abilities in unconventional creative work,

• going out to the open air to observe and draw sketches,


Classes will be tutored according to given techniques:
Line as a basic element building a picture (straight line, broken, curve, vertical, horizontal, oblique, dashed line of different thickness).
Depend on children`s abilities there will be various techniques used. Drawing in pencil, crayon, with a stick, feather, in ink.
Splash (stain) as a creative play (use of accidental splash to make new shapes through associations, adding new fragments, coloured paper mosaic (cut and paste picture), collage, painting, painting in coloured ink.
Texture –exercises in which children use new different kinds of facture to make a picture. During the classes there will be various materials in use beginning from combinations of distinct texture through paper to natural materials, grout of several kinds of thickness, sand, gravel, leaves, sticks and seeds.
Additionally the activities will be enriched with elements of music and story telling to awake children`s will to express on paper and make them aware of the fact that everybody can paint and draw. Whereas a technique is only a factor which ecourages to work (because you see an immediate and interesting effect of acting) and reinforces faith in somebody`s own strength.

Time of the project.
8 weeks, from the beginning of April 2008 to June 2008
Transmission.
Electronic mail, photos, PowerPoint presentation, photo albums about towns.
I suggest to establish a link under the banner of “eTwinning” within the school website and place weekly stages of the work on the project.
Aims
- create possibilities of free statements including impressions and feelings in various artistic forms and motivating to independent creative solutions,
- develop skills of using tools as pencil, feather, stick, brush, crayon, fingers etc.
- widen knowledge about our towns nowadays and in the past, discover the architecture of our towns,
- acquaint the most important monuments and objects in the town,
- stimulate cognitive processes, sensitize to the esthetics of surrounding,
-sensitize to the beauty of our town
-reinforce the sense of identity with the place of living,
-teach high regard for achievement of past generations,
-develop emotional bounds with one`s own residence, region, country.
